Clear and legible street name plates are important to locate and reference properties. Local authorities must ensure that street name plates are in place in accordance with the SNN legislation. However, the legislation uses phrases such as ‘have cause to’ install street name signage and therefore the local authority can delegate this responsibility to the developer at the developer’s expense.
